The Kapro 389 Multi-Scanner Stud Finder is an electronic sensor that detects live AC wires, metal, studs, and wood. The stud finder includes an automatic scanning feature and detection buzzer that alerts the user to the exact position of the stud.
Multi-Modes
This sensor has a range of 2” (50mm) for live wires and metal, 11/2” (38mm) for metal pipes, and ¾” (18mm) for wood. This tool is perfect for drywall, electrical, and construction projects.

Can this detect wires inside conduit?
No, the 389 cannot detect wires if they are inside conduit, behind metallic wall coverings, dense materials, or coated.
Is it covered under warranty?
Yes, digital sensors are covered for 2 years for manufacture defect for registered tools.
Any damage by user due to improper use or accident is NOT covered under warranty.
How deep can it detect electrical wires?
The 389 can detect live wires between 90-250 V at 50-60 Hz AC up to 2" deep. Please note that the wires cannot be shielded or the 389 cannot detect them.
